Education

Greater Richmond offers an array of educational resources to meet the education and training needs of any company. Award-winning public schools are supplemented by a variety of private and parochial schools. A full range of undergraduate, graduate and professional degree programs are available. Twenty-six colleges and universities produce a steady stream of employees for new and expanding companies in fields including business, engineering, law, and medicine. In addition, there are nearly 100 institutions of higher education within 100 miles of Richmond that enroll more than 430,000 students.

Special weekend and evening schools offering classes in language and culture have been created by the local German, Chinese, Jewish, Indian, Japanese, and Korean communities. Although designed primarily for children of the specific nationality to maintain their culture, classes for adults and for non-native speakers may also be available.
